About Me

Riley started his career as an assistant engineer for Ed Mashal (Recording Engineer for the Eagles) at Criteria Studios and Quad Radial Studios in Miami, FL. way back in 1989. This led to a temporary Production Assistant/Assistant MIDI Tech position with Miami record producer Ramone Arcusa, who at the time was producing a Julio Iglesisas album at Criteria Studios. He was then hired as a staff engineer at New River Studios in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1990.
At New River, Riley worked on projects that earned three platinum album awards, one gold album award (Skid Row, Jimmy Buffett, Yngwie Malmsteen, Extreme), other projects hailed numerous Ampex Golden Reel Awards, an ADDY Award with Music a la Carte and a Grammy Nomination for best Mexican-American Vocal Album (Juan Gabriel-"El Mexico Que Se Nos Fue"). New River afforded Riley the chance to learn his craft with some real experts. He had the honor of working with some pretty well respected producers and engineers. Guys like Hans Zimmer, Jim Gaines, Phil Ramone, James & Ron Last, Tom Hartman, Ramone Arcusa, Rudy Perez, Michael Wagener, Erwin Musper, Mario Breuer, Eric Schilling, Russ Kunkle, Jeff Glixman, Ed Mashal, Jim Thomas, Larry Janus, and Dave Barton just to name a few (the list goes on and on). Each one provided him with more knowledge and insight than he could have ever imagined and Riley is forever in their debt for showing him his true calling.
In 1996, he was head hunted by Walt Disney Entertainment. In conjunction with IATSE, he started working as a live sound engineer, doing everything from sound design, sound system installation to mixing live shows and special events. He was also the engineer for a Beatles tribute band called The British Invasion.
During his tenure at Disney, Riley started Rye Dawg Productions. Rye Dawg was started in the fall of 2001 with one client doing a four song demo. That first client is now becoming very successful in NYC and her craft just gets better and better. Since that first simple session, Rye Dawg has recorded and co-produced many vocal demos, voice over's, music and sound fx tracks, mostly for actors/singers working on their professional reels and independent productions. Riley is also working with several bands such as The Pheromones and Fully Loadid doing their live sound, and having a great time doing it. He's still a member of IATSE and has attended Syn-Aud-Con seminars on electro-acoustics.
Most recently, Riley joined the team at Urban Soundz Studio, owned by recording artist, Jen Stackpole, in Deltona, FL. and working with two great engineer/producers, Frank Starchak (Deltona Records Studio) and Adrian Sutton (Urban Soundz Studio). Riley is also a freelance engineer for QVC Remote Productions at the QVC Television Network, doing Live Remote Broadcasts around the country such as New York Fashion Week.
So if you're looking for a professional in the recording/live sound industry with a passion for doing things right the first time, please feel free to contact Riley. Be sure to check out some of the Recording, Live Sound and Film/TV/Radio productions he's worked on.
